PARAFFIN WAX
Paraffin wax is iobtained from slack wax via advanced purification and deoiling processes to ensure high quality and consistency.
1. Physical Properties
Appearance: white, colorless, translucent solid
Odor: odorless (esp. fully refined grades)
Form: slabs, pellets, granules, or blocks
Penetration: indicates softness/hardness of the wax
2. Chemical Properties
Mixture of saturated hydrocarbons (mainly straight-chain alkanes C20–C40)
Chemical Stability: quite stable, low reactivity
Solubility: insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents
