PETROLATUMS
Petrolatum is a by-product of the dewaxing plant. It is produced during the solvent dewaxing of residual lubricant fractions and during the production of bright stock base oils, where heavy waxy components are separated.
1. Physical Properties
Appearance: Semi-solid, smooth, homogeneous mass
Color: yellow to dark brown
Odor: mild petroleum odor
Texture: greasy consistency
2. Chemical Properties
Composition: Blend of saturated hydrocarbons (paraffinic + microcrystalline) with residual oil
